Prang Club
The IAC fleet has an insurance excess for all insurance polices which is £5000. In the event of an incident resulting in damage to the aircraft the PIC, or last PIC would be responsible for the insurance excess or value of damage caused whichever is lower. This includes damage to wheel fairings, interior plastics, seats and so forth. At IAC we have a 'JUST' culture of reporting matters, from airspace infringements to heavy landings, over stressing the airframe during manoeuvres or damage caused. This culture ensures every pilot feels in a non-blame situation and has the opportunity to learn from mistakes, encourage others to learn and avoids the risk of unserviceable aircraft being flown by another pilot unknowingly following an incident. It is for everyone's safety. The direct costs incurred following an incident are required from the members direct. Members can subscribe on a voluntarily basis to a 'Prang Club' insurance excess waiver fee. This would indemnify the member of the required insurance excess, or cost of repairs whichever. This encourages the 'JUST' culture of reporting matters removing the expense element of the result of the said report. The 'Prang Club' will cover the pilot in command from minor damage to the aircraft, including and not limited to : - Wing fairings & lights Aircraft spats Interior items Heavy landing inspections. 'Prang Club' subscribers are covered when moving IAC aircraft in and out of the hangar, on the apron and whilst conducting your flight in accordance with the Flying Order book. You are not covered for 3rd party damage not covered by an insurance claim. The Prang Club fee is due each year on the 1st February and the amount set by the Director to ensure the required funds meet the demands of any insurance excess needs. Members joining part year have the opportunity to pay a pro-rata after six months, whole month, until the 31st January the following year. Any member found to be operating outside the restrictions set out in the Flying Order Book or aircraft POH would null invalid the 'Prang Club' insurance and the required cost of repairs or insurance excess would be required in full.
